               Common Idioms, Literary, classical allusions, figurative language

1. Students need a piece of paper and an ink pen

2. Students will go through SOL 10.3 d & e packet and  provide their best answer

3. We will go over this as a class and discuss answer rationale

4. Class will hand in their papers and they will be graded as class participation

Bell Ringer: The first cars did not have steering wheels. They were operated by a lever. ( 2 x in cursive). All Classes: Hand in the three bell ringers for the week

2. Open "Thank You Note Project" 

3. Click on the second item down to see what a correctly addressed envelope should look like

4. Click on the third item down to see the exercise to complete. I have given you several fictitious addresses. On your own paper, draw a rectangle and fill in the information as shown on the sample envelope. You must do five of these. 

* You must use a return address

* The house number comes before the street name

* Town comes before state. There is a comma in the middle. 

* There is no comma after the state

Bell Ringer: The amount of pollution emitted by the average lawn when run for an hour is equal to that of a car being driven for roughly 200 miles. For the environmentally concerned, or just plain lazy, that’s a great reason to mow your lawn a little less often. (1 x in cursive)

1. On my web page, towards the top, is a section called worksheets. Click on that.

2. At the top of the list of various worksheets is a folder called "Thank You Note Project."

3. Open that folder. We will read together as a class.

4. Write a rough draft of a  "Thank You" note on notebook paper and let me grade.
